This tour to Burundi and RWanda will take you to visit Bujumbura city cultural experiences and the tour of the city suburbs, Gitega to the national museum, detour to Lake Tanganyika for natural beauty, local fishing villages, and sandy beaches. End Burundi with a visit to Ruvubu (time permitting) and the Source of the Nile at Rutovu. In Rwanda you will go for Gorilla tracking in Parc national des volcans and cutural tour of Kigali city including a visit to the Cultural museums.

Day 1: Arrival, Bujumbura
On your arrival at Kanombe (Kigali) airport, you will be met and greeted by our smiling Driver guide, will brief you about your tour in Burundi. Transfer to the City center for a Bujumbura city tour where you will visit the snake and culture Museum (Musee Vivant), Rusizi National Park. You will also visit the Buyenzi Muslim center, Belvedere climb which offers a beautiful scenic view of the whole Bujumbura city and Lake Tanganyika and also the Living stone Monument which is 12 Km away from the city center. Retire to your Hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Club Du Lac Tanganyika Hotel
Day 2: Cultural Tour of Bujumbura
While in Bujumbura today, take a visit to the Explorers Memorial, a huge rock in the Suburbs of Bujumbura commemorating the meeting between explorers John Speke and Hanington. A visit to a local general goods market, the craft centre and downtown Bujumbura.Dinner and overnight at Club du Lac Tanganyika Hotel on a Bed & Breakfast basis.
Day 3: Gitega Visit
After breakfast, you drive and visit the historical royal capital of Gitega where you will tour the National Museum, the Catholic Section at Mushasha, Boman the Ex-German colony office, the administrative offices and the famous drummers of Gishora where a drummers performance team will be waiting for you for a cultural performance. Dinner and overnight at Club du Lac Tanganyika Hotel
Day 4: Transfer to Kigali, Rwanda
Today, you will drive through heading for Rwanda and finalize with the border crossing with Rwanda and on to Butare. Lunch while there and visit a cultural museum. Arrive late afternoon. [Approximate driving time: 8 hours]
Overnight at Hotel des Mille Collines, which was very significant in fighting genocide. (HB)
Day 5: Kigali – Parc National Des Volcans
Have a city tour in Kigali in morning and in the afternoon, you will drive to the North of Kigali to Kinigi through Ruhengeri. [Approximate driving time: 3 hours] O/N: Hotel La Palme/Virunga Hotel/Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (FB)
Day 6: Parc National des Volcans
Transfer to Kinigi Park Headquarters to track gorillas in Parc National des Volcans. Gorilla tracking through the forest, hills and swamps can be tough, arduous and tiring, sometimes taking up to 8 hours in the forest. But coming face to face with the great primates is well worth the effort.

Day 7: Parc National des Volcans – Kigali
While in the park, you can either go gorilla tracking (on payment of US$750 gorilla permit supplement at time of booking), Track the golden monkeys or climb the awesome Visoke volcano, or trek to Karisoke Research Centre which was set up by the famous primatologist Dian Fossey, or visit local communities for the Rwanda Cultural experience. Drive back to Kigali O/N: Hotel Chez Lando or Hotel des Mille Collines (B-L-D).
Day 8: Kigali visit and Departure
Depending on the time of your flight, you will have your Kigali city trip including the Genocide Memorial centre at Gisozi. Transfer to the Airport for your departure. (BB)
Day 9: Kigali City – Akagera Park
After breakfast, take a few hours visit to the Genocide Memorial Centre at Gisozi before transferring to Akagera National Park. Drive to the Eastern part of Rwanda via Kayonza to Akagera National Park, Arriving later in the afternoon. O/N: Akagera Game Lodge (FB).
Day 10: Akagera Park
Take a morning game drive to view the giraffes. later break for lunch after which you will go for a boat cruise on Lake Ihema searching for hippos, crocodiles and a variety bird species. You will continue your exploration along the lakes Kivumba, and to the giraffe valley before returning to the lodge for an evening rest. O/N: Akagera Game Lodge (FB).
Day 11: Akagera NP – Kigali
You will take an early morning breakfast after which you will visit the height of Mutumba and view all the Akagera lakes from the highest point in the park. Here Karangwe mountains and Lake Tanganyika in Tanzania can be seen from a distance. Descend to a resort at the shores of the lake for lunch after which you will drive back to Kigali and transfer to Kanombe airport for your flight back home.
