You will visit Rwanda and Uganda the only two countries with Mountain gorillas in Africa. In Rwanda you will visit Parc National des Volcans (PNV) also known as Volcanoes Park while in Uganda you will visit  Mgahinga Mountain Gorilla Park also known as Bwindi South. The tour involve crossing the Rwanda-Uganda border twice (Total Visas fee: $110). the Gorilla tracking permit in Rwanda costs $750 while in Uganda it costs $500. The trip will take you 7 days of experiencing the largest primate of Africa. This two parks are located in the volcanoes region which aids you to climb volcanoes (Visoke or Karisimbi) and have amazing view of the surrounding. You will also visit the crater lake region including a visit of lake Mutanda in kisoro.

Day 1: Arrival

On your arrival at Kanombe airport, you will be welcomed by our guide and transfer to Kigali town. O/N: Hotel chez Lando Hotel (BB).

Day 2: Two: Kigali – Parc National des Volcans (PNV)

After breakfast, you will visit the Genocide Memorial Museum at Gisozi and drive Northwards to PNV for dinner and rest overnight preparing for Gorilla tracking in the following morning. O/N: Mountain Gorilla View Lodge or Hotel La Palme (FB).

Day 3: Parc National des Volcans

After breakfast, you will drive to the Park Headquarters for briefing by the guides before heading for gorilla tracking in the park. Tracking can be hard ad challenging hence requires physical fitness of the participants.  Parc National des Volcans is a forest with hilly sceneries, steep slopes and swamps can make tracking a hard and tiring experience. Tracking can take as long as up to 9 hours of a walk in the forest searching for the gorillas. However an our of interaction with this closest relatives to human is indeed a rewarding experience. O/N: Mountain Gorilla View Lodge or Hotel La Palme (FB).

Day 4: Parc National des Volcans

You will go for a nature walk and track the golden monkeys, a few species of golden monkeys exists worldwide and they are listed by IUCN as endangered species. You will carry on exploring  and climb the Visoke volcano with amazing stunning view of the surroundings. On the village walk, you will visit Dian Fossey’s Karisoke Research Centre and possibly His grave.

Day 5: Parc National des Volcans – Kisoro, Uganda

After break fast you will drive and cross the border to Uganda (visa fees $50). You will have lunch in Kisoro and head for a relaxed exploration of the beautiful Lake Mutanda in the volcanoes region. You will return to your hotel and rest preparing for gorilla tracking the following morning. . O/N: Gorilla forest camp or Heritage Hotel Kisoro or Travelers Rest Hotel (FB)

Day 6: Gorilla Tracking

You will drive to the Mt. Mgahinga Gorilla park (or Virunga in DRC) headquarter for briefing before going to the jungle at around 8:00am. Track Gorillas, this is the climax of the tour. Gorilla tracking can take 3 -9 hours on walking in the jungle before one returns to his/her accommodation, the jungle, precipitous landscape and rain may make the tour challenging but with a close encounter face-face with the largest primate of Africa is a remarkable experience you will ever have in life. O/N Gorilla forest camp or Heritage Hotel Kisoro or Travellers Rest Hotel (FB).

Day 7: Kisoro – Kigali

You will have a relaxed morning and breakfast then later cross the border back to Kigali (visa fees $60). You will have lunch in kigali and visit Genocide Memorial museum at Gisozi. Later transfer to the Airport during time for you flight and fly out.
