On this tour, you will visit Nyungwe in South West of Rwanda. a natural forest and believed to be the largest afro-montane forest in Central Africa. The forest is over 10000 square kilometers in size, with many species of primates including; colobus monkeys in large groups of over 200 members, chimpanzees, butterflies and over 300 bird species have been recorded. This tour combines nature visits in the forest and cultural visits; to the national museum at Butare and Former King’s palace.

Day 1: Arrival
On your arrival at Kanombe airport, you will be welcomed by our guide and transfer to Kigali town. O/N: Hotel chez Lando Hotel (BB).

Day 2: Kigali – Nyungwe Forest
Start After breakfast you will head for Nyungwe Forest National Park. Make stops en route at places of interest including local markets, the traditional palace of Rwanda’s Former King in Nyanza. You will visit the Botanical Gardens and a cultural museum in Butare (Approximate drive: 5hours). You will have Lunch en route before proceeding to Nyungwe Forest across cute hilly sceneries modified by tea plantations en route. O/N: Gisakura Guest House (FB)

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking
After breakfast early in the morning, you will go for chimp tracking in Nyungwe forest, the largest in Central Africa. on your trek searching for chimps you will come across stunning wildlife including monkeys, several species of birds and butterflies as well as amazing tree species. Day 4: Nyungwe Forest
Go for a guided nature walk in the forest, a variety of animals and bird species. colubus monkeys which are usually in groups of hundreds 200 plus, birds including; the black and white casqued hornbill, turaco and many others, the forest has over 300 species of birds. Day 5: Departure
Return to Kigali, driving for approximately 5 hours and transfer to Kanombe airport for departure.
